CYLA is the nation's largest association of young lawyers. A young lawyer has been in practice for five years or less or is 36 years old or younger.
CYLA offers lawyers and new practitioners the best opportunity for involvement in our profession and for participating in public service at the state and local levels.

The State Bar's Conference of Barristers was created in 1965 by the State Bar's Board of Trustees. The name was changed to the California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) in 1977-78. An in 2018 we became part of the new California Lawyers Association.
We have been expanding CYLA's educational programs geared for new attorneys, creating more networking opportunities, and reaching out to the membership. For more information, contact CYLA.

The California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) offers many educational programs. We are proud to introduce the 10 Minute Mentor video series
This series of short videos feature leading attorneys in their area of practice - providing 10 minutes of mentoring on a particular topic.
These videos are foundational in nature and designed to point you toward valuable resources.
These videos are completely free of charge and should you want to learn more - some of them are also available as a full length Continuing Legal Education (CLE).
We hope you enjoy these videos and we appreciate your continued support of CYLA.
All California attorneys who are in their first five years of practice or are 36 years of age or younger are AUTOMATICALLY members of CYLA. No separate membership fee is required. Membership in CYLA is a benefit provided as a result of your status as a newer member.
Social media, anyone? The California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) now has its own page on Facebook and our Twitter account @calbarCYLA, where we can keep you up-to-date on our latest news and events. And the Sections & CYLA have a new presence on LinkedIn.
We're also looking forward to interacting with a wider community, and reaching out to people who are not currently members.
